TCT for Surgeons to showcase hybrid surgical, interventional techniques during TCT 2010

TCT for Surgeons will showcase the expansion of hybrid surgical and interventional techniques in the field that are improving outcomes for patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Now in its 4th year, the course will run during Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics 2010 (September 21-25), the annual scientific symposium of the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.

ATS Medical announces first ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis commercial implant in China

ATS Medical, Inc., manufacturer and marketer of state-of-the-art cardiac surgery products and services today announced the first commercial implant of the ATS 3f® Aortic Bioprosthesis was recently completed by Liu Zhi Gang, MD at Fu Wai Hospital in Beijing, China. Fu Wai Hospital is the largest cardiac surgery center in Asia and a full line of ATS products are utilized by their surgeons. ATS received permission from the Chinese State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) to market the ATS 3f Aortic Bioprosthesis in March.

MAQUET's VASOVIEW EVH reduces rates of leg infection in CABG patients

GTC Biotherapeutics reports total net loss of $1.7M for fourth-quarter 2009

GTC Biotherapeutics, Inc. today reported its financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended January 3, 2010. The total net loss for the fourth quarter was $1.7 million, or $0.09 per share, compared with $6.2 million, or $0.60 per share, for the fourth quarter of 2008. The total net loss for 2009 was $27.9 million, or $2.18 per share, compared to $22.7 million, or $2.31 per share, for 2008.
