Kaiser Permanente Southern California selected for 10-center Mental Health Research Network

The Kaiser Permanente Southern California Department of Research & Evaluation has been selected for inclusion in the 10-center Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) recently funded with a $10.5 million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. Specific gene variation linked to late-onset Alzheimer's

A new study from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) has found evidence suggesting that a variation of a specific gene may play a role in late-onset Alzheimer's, the disease which accounts for over 90% of Alzheimer's cases. This innovative study has combined genetics and brain imaging to determine who may be at risk for developing late-onset Alzheimer's disease long before symptoms appear.

Today, the Canadian Diabetes Association released the findings from its Saskatchewan Diabetes Cost Model, indicating that Saskatchewan currently faces the highest combined prevalence of diabetes and prediabetes in the Prairies.
