CHI submits comments to FDA CDRH 510(k) Working Group Preliminary Report and Recommendations

California Healthcare Institute today submitted formal comments to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding the Center for Devices and Radiological Health 510(k) Working Group Preliminary Report and Recommendations, which could transform the 510(k) regulatory process for new medical devices, greatly affecting innovation and public health in California. CHI is a non-profit public policy research organization, representing leading California academic institutions, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics and pharmaceutical firms.

Penn Medicine selected as study site for PPMI

The Penn Medicine Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Center announced that it is one of 18 official study sites for the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI), a landmark observational clinical study sponsored by The Michael J. Mount Sinai receives contract to develop nanotechnology tools for diagnosing diseases

Mount Sinai School of Medicine received a contract for almost $16.5 million from The National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLBI) through the Program of Excellence in Nanotechnology (PEN). The contract is one of four issued nationally to develop multidisciplinary research Centers with the goal of developing nanotechnology tools for diagnosing and treating heart, lung and blood diseases.
