Lean mass may decline among Alzheimer's patients

Lean mass—the weight of an individual's bones, muscles and organs without body fat—appears to decline among patients with Alzheimer's disease, according to a report in the April issue of Archives of Neurology, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.

Epix Pharmaceuticals' MRI imaging intellectual properties to be auctioned on May 28, 2010

Joseph F. Finn, Jr., C.P.A., Assignee for the Benefit of Creditors of Epix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ("Epix"), announced today that the MRI imaging intellectual properties will be auctioned on May 28, 2010. The assets of Epix were transferred to him on July 20, 2009 and he is liquidating them for the benefit of Epix creditors. He recently reached an agreement with Bayer Schering Pharma that permits the sale of the MRI imaging programs.

New CZT-based cardiac nuclear imaging system now at Mount Sinai Medical Center

The Mount Sinai Medical Center has become the first in the United States to commercially use a new cardiac nuclear imaging system by GE Healthcare, a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT)-based high-speed, high-resolution camera that drastically reduces imaging time for patients while also reducing radiation exposure compared to previously used technologies.
