A study of 1,000 consecutive Computer-Assisted Robotic Total Knee Replacements performed over a five year period at Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, NY demonstrates that the computer-assisted procedures result in far better leg alignment, much less likelihood of complicating infection, and a far lower early failure rate than surgeries performed using conventional techniques.

Nanoparticle-core polymer holds promise as weight-bearing replacement for traditional graft materials

Orthopedic surgeons are often hamstrung by less-than-ideal grafting material when performing surgeries for complex bone injuries resulting from trauma, aging or cancer. Conventional synthetic bone grafts are typically made of stiff polymers or brittle ceramics, and cannot readily conform to the complex and irregular shapes that often result from injury; in addition, they often require metallic fixation devices that require open surgeries to insert and remove.

Based on these whistleblowers' bravery in coming forward to disclose their knowledge of activity at Rush University Medical Center, that entity will pay the United States and the State of Illinois more than $1.5 million. Comparative study reveals no clinical advantages of mobile bearing knee systems over fixed bearing knee systems
