NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that it has priced an underwritten public offering of 9,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $5.50 per share. Net proceeds, after estimated underwriting discounts and commissions and estimated expenses, will be approximately $46.2 million.

But in the operating room, a tired but undeterred surgeon is struggling through a femoral fracture reduction on a young patient. The surgery, which is usually a meticulous and straightforward procedure, is not going smoothly. After wrestling with the fracture, he has no choice but to take a more invasive approach.
