Johnson & Johnson today announced sales of $16.3 billion for the fourth quarter of 2011, an increase of 3.9% as compared to the fourth quarter of 2010. Operational sales increased 4.0% and the negative impact of currency was 0.1%.

Oxygen Biotherapeutics to commence study to determine efficacy of Dermacyte in relieving Histamine induced pruritus

Oxygen Biotherapeutics, Inc. has announced that enrollment for the company’s first dermatological study will begin later this month at St. John’s Medical College Hospital in Bangalore, India. The company received formal approval from the hospital’s Ethics Review Board in December. This study is the first of a series of trials scheduled for 2012 to explore the efficacy of Dermacyte to treat a variety of dermatological conditions, such as allergic contact dermatitis, psoriasis and acne.

Certain IBD patients at increased risk of skin cancer

Certain patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may have an increased risk of skin cancer, which is intensified by the use of immunosuppressant medications , according to two new studies in Gastroenterology, the official journal of the American Gastroenterological Association. Immunosuppressants are commonly used in the treatment of IBD.

Span-America fourth quarter sales decrease 1% to $13.7 million

Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. today reported its results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended October 1, 2011. The company reported fourth quarter 2011 sales of $13.7 million and net income of $910,000, or $0.32 per diluted share. Sales for fiscal year 2011 were $52.6 million, and net income was $3.7 million, or $1.30 per diluted share.

Johnson & Johnson third quarter sales increase 6.8% to $16.0 billion

Johnson & Johnson today announced sales of $16.0 billion for the third quarter of 2011, an increase of 6.8% as compared to the third quarter of 2010. Operational results increased 2.6% and the positive impact of currency was 4.2%. Domestic sales declined 3.7%.
