CMOS Active Pixel Sensors - Lince6M5

Teledyne e2v is proud to present their versatile new chip, the Lince6M5. A fully digital, high speed CMOS active pixel sensor that is purpose built to ensure maximum flexibility. Lince6M5 has an advanced 6.5 MP CMOS active pixel image sensor that allows for High Dynamic Range (HDR), as well as both global and rolling electronic shutter features.

A Versatile Sensor That Can Operate in a Large Range of Applications

By using active CMOS pixels with pinned photodiodes, the sensor array can deliver high image quality whilst maintaining the size, cost, and integration advantage of the CMOS technology. It has the capacity to suit any environment from low noise, high dynamic range surveillance; to high speed slow motion analysis, including high resolution machine vision applications

In order to cope with linear light response with 58 dB and 62 dB dynamic range for global and rolling electronic shutter, respectively, the pixel response can be altered. It can also be made suitable for high dynamic range response with more than 100 dB dynamic range.

The entire system runs with an external clock of 9.6 MHz and all required timing and reference voltages are generated internally, to reduce the need for external components. There is also a power down capability for very low power dissipation.

Every feature and CIS function is able to be programmed through a simple four wire standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). The device includes 24 LVDS high speed outputs allowing image data to be transferred at up to 14 Gbit/sec, and 2 additional LVDS ports for clock recovery and image synchronization.

An extremely versatile device, the Lince6M5 is well suited to any application.

Typical Applications
