The Sapphire Family CMOS Image Sensor

Built using their proprietary Eye-On-Si CMOS imaging technology, the 1600 x 1200 pixel Sapphire CMOS image sensor is Teledyne e2v’s newest product from the Sapphire chip family. Designed to be functionally, hardware and software compatible with the 1.3 million pixel EV76C560 device, it is the first choice for diverse applications where a first-rate performance is required.

The novel pixel design offers superior operation in low-light conditions with both electronic rolling shutters and electronic global shutters, with a rapid readout speed of 50/60 fps in full resolution.

Histogram outputs, as well as other innovative industrial machine vision application features such as multi ROI and 3D range gating are built into the chip. Minimal power consumption makes this device well suited battery powered hand-held applications.
