AAV6 Upstream Empty/Full Capsid Optimization Using CIM SO3 Multi-Well Plates and Mass Photometry

Webinar Date
  • Wed September 10, 2025
    11:00 AM 1 hour

This session will highlight new research focused on optimizing AAV6 upstream production - an essential step in improving the safety and affordability of gene therapies. Using a design of experiment (DoE) approach, the Sartorius BIA Separations team systematically identified the optimal conditions to achieve a high full capsid ratio. Further optimization was conducted with the Ambr15 system, while CIM SO3 monolithic plates enabled efficient high-throughput purification of upstream samples. Mass photometry was used to accurately assess capsid species ratios, supporting more precise and scalable production.

Attendees will gain insights into how upstream process improvements can reduce cost of goods and help expand public access to gene therapies.

By attending this webinar, you will learn:

  • How CIM SO3 plates can be utilized for high-throughput purification of AAV upstream samples where certain purity for analytics is needed.
  • How best production conditions are determined to achieve the highest empty full capsid ratio using mass photometry.
  • How to speed up your production process using Ambr15.

About the webinar speakers

Marko Narobe is a molecular biologist. He joined Sartorius BIA Separations in 2020 as a Technical Support Professional. During his carrer he gained deep technical understanding of monolithic chromatography, and clients' needs. As a Product Manager he covers Sartorius BIA Separations' high throughput solutions.

Hena Divanovic is an Application Scientist with a background in cell and gene therapy process development. She joined Refeyn in 2025, focusing on developing applications for cell and gene therapy. Throughout her career, she has worked on downstream process optimisation, actively using mass photometry to support process development.
