UV light improves biosensing by immobilizing antibodies

In this technique, antibodies anchored to gold electrodes on a piece of quartz crystal act like the "hooks" on the sticky side of a Velcro strap, grabbing molecules of interest as they pass by.

FDA grants Premarket Approval for Roche's IgM antibody to hepatitis B core antigen assay

Roche announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted Premarket Approval for its IgM antibody to hepatitis B core antigen (Anti-HBc IgM) assay for use on the cobas e 601 analyzer, the immunoassay module of the cobas 6000 analyzer series for mid-volume laboratories.

New research on link between APOL1 gene variants and kidney disease in African Americans
