New study uncovers effects of beer compound on cartilage cells in osteoarthritis

Formononetin (FNT), an isoflavonoid present in beer, was investigated for its effects on chondrocytes, the cells responsible for joint health. While low levels of FNT showed no harm and reduced inflammation, excessive exposure promoted catabolic responses, shedding light on the relationship between beer consumption and osteoarthritis risk.
