Kessler Foundation scientist awarded five-year grant to study predictors of memory decline in MS

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society awarded Victoria Leavitt, PhD, a $619,618 grant to study predictors of memory decline in MS. Dr. Leavitt, a scientist in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Research at Kessler Foundation, will use functional magnetic resonance imaging to evaluate a brain marker with predictive value for memory decline.

Limiting work hours for medical trainees increases the number of patient 'handoff’

Limiting the number of continuous hours worked by medical trainees failed to increase the amount of sleep each intern got per week, but dramatically increased the number of potentially dangerous handoffs of patients from one trainee to another, new research from Johns Hopkins suggests. The reductions in work hours also decreased training time, the researchers found.
