Pritzker Olsen files lawsuit against Kanan Enterprises for wrongful death suit

Pritzker Olsen law firm has filed a lawsuit through its local counsel on behalf of the family of Nellie Napier, who died after eating peanut butter contaminated with Salmonella. The wrongful death suit was filed in the Court of Common Pleas, Cuyahoga County, Ohio against Kanan Enterprises, Inc., doing business as King Nut Companies, an Ohio Corporation.

U.S. falling short of its goals to improve access to clean water, sanitation worldwide, report says

The U.S. is falling short on its goal of improving conditions for the 2.6 billion people worldwide without access to clean water and sanitation despite the fact the Water for the Poor Act became law in 2005, according to a report released Thursday by the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), WaterAid, CARE and 11 other organization, Food Safety News reports.

Kaiser Permanente awards 792 grants in third quarter 2010

Kaiser Permanente, one of the country's largest not-for-profit health care organizations, funded 792 grants nationwide, totaling approximately $16 million in the third quarter of 2010. Grants awarded to organizations this quarter included funding basic human services in California in a tight economy, offering dental care to women and children in the Mid-Atlantic States, and providing college scholarships to high school students in the Northwest to pursue careers in health care.

Federal government takes second enforcement action against food distributor Lao Trading

FDA purchases AB SCIEX QTRAP 5500 Systems for analysis of the U.S. food supply

AB SCIEX, a global leader in life science analytical technologies, today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has purchased eight of the company's AB SCIEX QTRAP® 5500 Systems for analysis of the U.S. food supply.
