Topline, interim results from Celldex Phase 2b EMERGE study of CDX-011 for advanced breast cancer

Celldex Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that interim, topline results of the Phase 2b EMERGE study of CDX-011 in patients with advanced breast cancer will be presented in a webcast on May 23, 2012. Differentiated luminal-like breast cancer cells can generate larger tumors

New findings in breast cancer research by an international team of scientists contradict the prevailing belief that only basal-like cells with stem cell qualities can form invasive tumors. Research led by Ole William Petersen at the University of Copenhagen (CU) and Mina Bissell of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and has shown that luminal-like cells with no detectable stem cell qualities can generate larger tumors than their basal-like counterparts.

Dabigatran etexilate superior to warfarin for stroke prevention in AF patients

New data from two RE-LY trial sub-group analyses show that dabigatran etexilate provides consistent benefits in stroke in atrial fibrillation (AF) compared to well-controlled warfarin, irrespective of whether patients use antiplatelet or other concomitant therapies, such as the anti-arrhythmics amiodarone or verapamil.
