Five Prime Therapeutics, Fast Forward partner to develop Multiple Sclerosis therapeutic candidate

Five Prime Therapeutics, Inc., a leader in the discovery and development of innovative biologics, and Fast Forward, LLC, a subsidiary of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, today announced an alliance to fund the development of a FivePrime pre-clinical stage therapeutic candidate for treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Fast Forward will commit up to $1 million to fund the advancement of the therapeutic candidate.

Valocor Therapeutics, Inc., a newly formed company focused on the development of innovative therapies for the treatment of dermatologic conditions, today announced the acquisition and license of certain dermatology therapeutic programs from QLT Inc.. DMC recommends ARIAD continue Phase 3 trial of oral ridaforolimus for metastatic sarcomas to final analysis

ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the independent Data Monitoring Committee (DMC) of the Phase 3 SUCCEED trial has completed the second interim efficacy analysis as specified in the study protocol and has recommended that the randomized, placebo-controlled trial of oral ridaforolimus in patients with metastatic sarcomas continue to its final analysis, without modification to the study protocol.

Positive results from Phase 2 clinical trial for STA-9090 in Stage IIIB and Stage IV patients with NSCLC

NormOxys raises $17.5M in Series B financing round

NormOxys Inc., a biotechnology company developing a novel class of small molecule drugs which enhance the body's ability to deliver oxygen to diseased tissues, today announced that it has initiated a Phase 1 clinical trial of OXY111A, a novel allosteric modulator of affinity of oxygen to hemoglobin. NormOxys plans to initially develop this compound as a treatment for chronic heart failure and cancer indications.
