Florida likely to seek waiver on medical loss ratio; Ariz. cuts back Medicaid benefits

The Hill Healthwatch: "Florida's 14-member insurance advisory board has unanimously passed a resolution to seek a waiver from the health law's medical loss ratio. An official with the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation tells The Hill that the board's vote means it's a 'done deal' that the state will formally seek some kind of waiver but the board is gathering public input through Oct. 8.

Xeomin receives FDA approval for treatment of cervical dystonia

Merz Pharmaceuticals today announced that the United States Food and Drug Administration has approved Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA), a botulinum toxin type A for the treatment of adults with cervical dystonia or blepharospasm. According to an epidemiology study conducted in Rochester, Minnesota, the prevalence of focal dystonia, which includes cervical dystonia and blepharospasm, is estimated at 295 per million people in the U.S.

A.M. Best affirms ratings of ProAssurance

ProAssurance Corporation today highlighted recent rating actions by A.M. Best, affirming the "A" Excellent ratings assigned to the ProAssurance Group and upgrading The PICA Group and The Podiatry Insurance Company of America (PICA) to "A" (Excellent) and ProAssurance National Casualty to "A-" (Excellent). Dynatronics third-quarter fiscal 2010 sales increase 7.9% to $8,235,060

Dynatronics Corporation today announced results for its fiscal third quarter ended March 31, 2010. Sales for the quarter increased 7.9 percent to $8,235,060, compared to $7,633,419 for the third quarter of the prior fiscal year. For the nine-month period ended March 31, 2010, sales increased 2.8 percent to $25,018,960, compared to $24,348,461 for the same period in the prior fiscal year.
