Cephalon, Inc. completes acquisition of Arana Therapeutics

Cephalon, Inc. (Nasdaq: CEPH) announced today that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of all of the outstanding ordinary shares of Australian biotechnology company, Arana Therapeutics Limited. As a result of the acquisition, Arana is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cephalon.

Burnham as a comprehensive center in a new National Cancer Institute (NCI) Chemical Biology Consortium

The consortium will establish a new paradigm in the use of public-private partnerships to translate knowledge from leading academic institutions into new drug treatments for patients with cancer. Cytori Therapeutics Q2 2009 financial results

Total revenues were $8.5 million and $10.5 million for the three and six months ended June 30, 2009, respectively, compared to $1.4 million and $2.4 million for the same periods in 2008. As part of Cytori’s Olympus partnership, the Company recognized $7.3 million in development revenue in the second quarter of 2009, due mostly to the completion of enrollment in the cardiovascular disease clinical safety and feasibility studies.
