The LUNA™ Automated Cell Counter can give you an accurate live/dead cell count in just 7 seconds. With the precision optical design and a new counting algorithm, the cell counting accuracy of the LUNA™ is unsurpassed.

Introducing the LUNA™

Within a cell concentration range of 5 x 104 ~ 1 x 107 cells/mL and cell diameters of 3 ~ 60 ㎛, LUNA™ software accurately distinguishes between live and dead cells and disregards debris. Individual cells in cell clusters are also successfully counted by LUNA’s new declustering algorithm.

Minimal counting cost

Automated cell counters utilize disposable counting slides to eliminate the need to wash glass hemocytometers. Logos Biosystems has developed the innovative T-Bond technology (patented) to manufacture precision cell counting slides in a cost-effective manner. The unit price of each slide is almost half that of competitors’ brands, leading to significant savings for dedicated users.

Erythrosin B and Trypan Blue-compatible

Although the LUNA™ can detect and count unstained cells, viability information can only be obtained from stained cell solutions. The traditional trypan blue can be used with the LUNA™, as well as the safer Erythrosin B. Both dyes produce consistently accurate cell count and viability data with the LUNA™.

Shortest time to result,

Image-based cell counters utilize image analysis software to extract and analyze live/dead features of cells. During this analysis process, color information is changed to binary (black & white) information, and features such as brightness, circularity, and diameter are extracted and analyzed.

With old algorithms, this process usually takes more than 30 seconds. However, the LUNA™ has integrated faster computing power and the most advanced cell detection algorithm to reduce the analysis time. It takes less than 7 seconds with the LUNA™ cell counter, which is approximately five times faster than other cell counters.

Interactive software interface

On-board monitoring of counted cells

Once the LUNA™ has counted your cells, you can check to see which cells were judged to be live or dead on the touch screen.

Green and red circles indicate live and dead cells, respectively. A separate computer is not needed to review or even analyze the data. Users can analyze results directly on the LUNA™.

Reanalysis options

Cell counting results can be saved as a high resolution TIF image and/or as a detailed report in PDF form to an external USB drive. The LUNA™ Automated Cell Counter provides an option to reanalyze saved images.

Users can open the images directly on the LUNA™ and recount cells using different parameters.
