FDA takes more time to decide on the fate of BMS & Pfizer’s joint venture anticlotting drug Eliquis

The U.S FDA have pushed back the deadline for deciding whether to approve an experimental anticlotting drug developed jointly by Pfizer Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. The companies said late Wednesday that the Food and Drug Administration has set a new target date of June 28 for deciding whether to approve Eliquis. That’s three months later than originally scheduled.

Down syndrome (DS) is the most common genetic disorder in live born children arising as a consequence of a chromosomal abnormality. It occurs as a result of having three copies of chromosome 21, instead of the usual two. Positive results from Critical Diagnostics' biomarker study in ambulatory heart failure patients

Initial stent implantation does not appear to improve outcomes for patients with stable CAD

A meta-analysis of eight previously published clinical trials suggests that initial stent implantation for patients with stable coronary artery disease is not associated with improved outcomes compared with initial medical therapy for prevention of death, nonfatal heart attacks, unplanned revascularization or angina, according to a study published in the Feb. 27 Archives of Internal Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
