E64d reduces Aβ levels and improves memory function in brains of Alzheimer's disease mice

Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, the Medical University of South Carolina and American Life Science Pharmaceuticals of San Diego have demonstrated that oral administration of a cysteine protease inhibitor, E64d, not only reduces the build-up of β-amyloid in the brains of animal models for Alzheimer's disease, but also results in a substantial improvement in memory deficit.

'Rotten eggs' gas inside knee joint protects against inflammation

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a gas more commonly associated with the smell of 'rotten eggs' and blocked drains. However, it has now been shown to be present naturally in our bodies and reside in knee joint synovial fluid, the protective fluid found in the cavities of joints that reduces friction between the cartilage of joints during movement. TQ can suppress growth of aggressive PCa cell lines: Researchers

Researchers at the Tulane University School of Medicine, in New Orleans, LA, have demonstrated that thymoquinone a major component of black seed oil (Nigella sativa) can suppress the growth of several aggressive prostate cancer cell lines, in vitro. Although previous studies have shown the anti-proliferative effects of TQ in different types of cancers, the molecular mechanism of this effect of TQ had not been delineated.
