Capabilities
- Sample accessories are offered to facilitate automated measurements of vials, tablets, tubes, and well plates. Perfect for measuring a lot of samples automatically.
- Representative sampling of heterogeneous materials is made possible by an expandable measurement spot size of up to 5 × 5 mm
- Directly measure samples using colored or clear bottles, plastic bags, jars, and vials
- It contains specialized cells for electrochemical and high- and low-temperature tests
- Extensive software tools automate analyses, allowing researchers to move beyond data and find answers.
- Remote sampling for samples that are too large to fit inside the sample compartment, with optional fiber-optic probes
High performance
- The lasers are depolarized to avoid sample orientation effects that could be confounding
- The laser power regulator allows for active monitoring of laser power and ensures that laser excitation power is consistent throughout the lifespan of the laser, even after it has been replaced
- The measurement area is changeable from 10 μm to 5 mm using Variable Dynamic Point Sampling (VDPS)
- To eliminate stitching artifacts, the CCD is exposed once and captures the entire spectral range from 3500 to 50 cm-1
- Automatic intensity correction generates spectra that are comparable across various excitation lasers and devices
- All excitation lasers provide the option of automatic fluorescence correction
- Artifact-free spectra are guaranteed via a patented method for automated cosmic ray rejection and superior laser line filters
- The Triplet spectrograph, which is patented, provides exceptional peak shape and retains focus at all wavelengths
- The patented auto alignment ensures that the system remains in as-new condition
- The patented Smart-backgrounds remove CCD dark energy profiles automatically
- Multidimensional wavelength calibration provides precise wavelength calibration over the whole spectral spectrum
- Optimized gratings for each excitation laser prevent systems from sacrificing performance by sharing gratings for numerous excitation lasers
Simple to use
- A configurable GO button on an instrument allows for walk-up operation. So that a user may drop a sample in, press a button, and have a report printed without having to interact with the computer - all data collection, processing, and reporting stages can be saved.
- Autoexposure (patent-pending) eliminates the guesswork in determining the number of exposures and exposure time
- Autofocusing attachments allow users to easily switch between different sample types
- The system automatically recognizes smart components and accessories, and when components are changed, parameters and alignment are optimized
- Alignment and calibration operations are completely automated in the program. The user simply needs to mount the alignment/calibration pod on the instrument; the software handles the rest. The user is not required to make any decisions to lead the process.

Databases and software
- Algorithms for library searches are tailored for Raman data
- The ability to quickly capture recurring activities into single buttons is made possible by a powerful macro creation tool
- With a single operation, the user can identify multiple components of a substance thanks to powerful spectral searching software
- Audit trails associated with spectra automatically record all processing activities and collection parameters
- Omnic Array provides automated data collection and analysis for array-based sample formats such as tablet arrays and well plates
- There is an extensive number of spectral libraries accessible (>16,000 compounds)
Maintenance and reliability
- The software makes all decisions, and the calibration process is automated
- Each laser automatically tracks its usage
- The technology requires a routine automatic alignment, which is entirely software-driven
Laser safety
The spectrometer is independently verified as class-1 laser safe. (Note: The optional fiber-optic accessory and several other optional accessories are class IIIb laser devices requiring laser safety eyewear and laser safety precautions.)
Modularity
- User-replaceable lasers use SmartLock technology to produce consistent results. Plug in the laser and follow the standard auto-alignment and calibration protocols
- Modular design allows for greater purchasing flexibility. Buy only enough to satisfy current needs, with the option to increase later without incurring fees or service calls
- Filters, lasers, gratings, and accessories are easily exchanged between multiple instruments. The instrument detects each component's serial number and stores the alignment and calibration settings for each individual Smart component
- When the components are installed, they are automatically utilized
Validation
- Omnic D/S software supports CFR 21 Part 11 compliance
- A comprehensive package for DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ validation is available, which includes rich documentation and automated software procedures
