Usage of gonadotropins in assisted reproductive technologies significantly improves outcomes

The U.S. infertility specialty has empirically incorporated greater amounts of human menopausal gonadotropin (hMG) into stimulation protocols, according to a new review article, "Gonadotropins in the Treatment of Infertility" by George T. Koulianos, MD, published in a recent issue of US Obstetrics & Gynecology, supported by an educational grant from Ferring Pharmaceuticals. The article reviews the wealth of clinical evidence supporting this trend, and demonstrates how the use of gonadotropins in the treatment of infertility, especially in assisted reproductive technologies, has significantly improved outcomes.

Research group performs randomized study to evaluate efficacy of ICCBco in treatment of lung lesions

To evaluate efficacy of Calculus Bovis compound preparation (ICCBco) in the treatment of lung lesions in portal hypertensive rabbits with schistosomiasis as the experimental animal model, a research group in China performed a randomized, double-blind, controlled trial to observe pathological changes and pathological effect mechanism of expression of fibronectin and laminin in the lung tissue of portal hypertensive rabbits with schistosomiasis.

IVAX Diagnostics, Inc., a fully integrated global in vitro diagnostics company, announced that Diamedix Corporation has signed a distribution agreement with Fumouze Diagnostics, a division of Sofibel S.A.S., of Paris, France, pursuant to which Fumouze Diagnostics will be the exclusive third party distributor of Diamedix Corporation and Delta Biologicals S.r.l.’s suite of diagnostic tests in France. Diamedix is a U.S. subsidiary of IVAX Diagnostics and Delta Biologicals is IVAX Diagnostics’ subsidiary located in Italy. The initial term of the distribution agreement is three years.
