GenMark second-quarter revenues increase 162% to $651,000

GenMark Diagnostics, Inc. today reported revenues of $651,000 for the quarter ending June 30, 2010, a 162% increase over second quarter 2009. Net loss for the second quarter was $5.1 million, or $0.60 per share, compared to a net loss of $4.3 million and $1.08 per share for the same period last year.

Agendia inaugurates new clinical genomics laboratory

Agendia, a world leader in molecular cancer diagnostics, today announced the inauguration of a new state-of-the-art clinical genomics laboratory in Irvine, CA. Sigma-Aldrich, NHLBI and BU collaborate in atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease research

Sigma-Aldrich® today announced it has entered into an agreement with the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health, and Boston University (BU) to develop methods to measure several potential biomarkers of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (CVD) using plasma samples from the NHLBI's Framingham Heart Study (FHS), one of the most prestigious clinical studies in medicine. Funding for the project is provided by the NHLBI to Sigma-Aldrich under a research subaward agreement with BU.

Merck-Chimie to commercialize CardioGenics' proprietary paramagnetic beads

Celera decreases second-quarter net loss to $6.1 million

Celera Corporation today reported net revenues of $32.6 million for the second quarter of 2010 that ended June 26, 2010, compared to $41.4 million for the prior year quarter. For the second quarter of 2010, Celera reported a net loss of $6.1 million, or $0.07 per share, compared to a net loss of $31.7 million, or $0.39 per share, for the prior year quarter.

Caliper Life Sciences second-quarter GAAP revenue decreases 10% to $29.0 million

Caliper Life Sciences, Inc., today reported results for its second quarter ended June 30, 2010. Second quarter GAAP revenue decreased 10% to $29.0 million from $32.1 million in the same period in 2009 as a result of divestitures in 2010 and 2009. Revenue from on-going business increased 4% on a reported basis and 6% on an organic basis (which assumes constant currency).
