Biodesix Inc., a fully integrated molecular diagnostic company dedicated to personalizing medicine, today announced a collaboration with Kadmon Corporation, LLC, to explore the utility of Biodesix' VeriStrat® test in a Phase 3 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) study of Kadmon's KD019, a reversible tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) targeting EGFR, HER2, VEGFR2 & 3, and SRC.

Researchers discover function and expression of CD97 in malignant gliomas

Young Neurosurgical Center and Old Dominion University have discovered that suppression of Wilms tumor 1 protein (WT1) results in downregulation of CD97 gene expression in three glioblastoma cell lines and reduces the characteristic invasiveness exhibited by glial tumor cells.

Cyclin D1 oncogene may promote chromosomal instability

A team of researchers at Jefferson's Kimmel Cancer Center (KCC) led by Richard G. Pestell, M.D., PhD., FACP, Director of the KCC and Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology, have shown in a study published online Feb. 6 in the Journal of Clinical Investigation that the oncogene cyclin D1 may promote a genetic breakdown known as chromosomal instability (CIN). CIN is a known, yet poorly understood culprit in tumor progression.
