CW-MHF Mid-IR Laser: Mid-IR spectroscopy

The CW-MHF Mid-IR Laser is ideal for high-resolution mid-IR spectroscopy. If users require excellent spectral resolution, phase-continuous tuning to avoid hopping across spectral lines, or both, the DRS Daylight CW-Mode-Hop-Free laser will fulfill those requirements.

Narrow-linewidth operation and MHF tuning are extremely difficult to achieve in any laser system. The CW-MHF system is unique in the market, with open-loop line widths of ≤ 5 MHz (over 100 ms) and MHF tuning to > 30 cm–1, and often > 100 cm–1.

The CW-MHF laser achieves this performance via years of precise engineering and manufacturing knowledge, as well as a very stable laser cavity that was engineered to be less susceptible to acoustic perturbation using finite element analysis.

The CW-MHF laser also has two techniques to adjust wavelength: PZT or current modulation. This unique combination of broad MHF tuning, narrow-linewidth operation, and modulation capabilities allows for high-resolution spectroscopy and/or locking to a wavelength reference.
