MultiDose uses a benchtop platform to automate solid dosage with excellent precision. The system combines Labman’s MultiDose software with a collaborative robot arm for effective, precise, and reproducible dispensing.
Flexible and intuitive workflow
MultiDose is a small, collaborative benchtop platform that is easy to integrate into any workflow. The system offers a user-friendly, high-throughput solution for unparalleled efficiency and maximum walk-away time, and it comes with MultiDose bespoke software as standard.
Collaborative and compact

The versatility of an open platform is provided by the collaborative Universal Robot arm. Without sacrificing safety, the system's small size and ability to accommodate several users make it simple to integrate into an existing laboratory procedure.
- Collaborative robot arm for working in the same area.
- Live consumable replenishment. A run can be paused before loading new dosing heads, and the system will automatically scan for new dosing heads when the run is resumed.
- More users can utilize it because less safety training is needed.
Mettler Toledo compatible

The Mettler Toledo XPR has a long history of reliable dosing. All Mettler Toledo dosing head types can be handled concurrently within the unit. This facilitates the transfer of dosing heads to other systems in the lab.
- 56-position carousel allowing plenty of storage for dosing heads
- Automatic RFID reading and writing in every carousel position
- Six decimal place XPR balance for superb accuracy
Custom-built, intuitive software

Operators configure and manage runs on the MultiDose platform using a simple touch screen and drag-and-drop interface. RFID tracking of dosing heads ensures that the correct solids are loaded and that the quantity is sufficient to complete the run in accordance with the specified requirements, including other dosing heads loaded onto the carousel. The live visual UI provides operators with rapid visibility of run performance.
- Simple, drag-and-drop user interface
- Autonomous interchangeable gripper fingertips enable different vial types to be handled in the same run
- Temperature and humidity are recorded at regular intervals and for each powder dispense
- User control provides full traceability of experiment owners. Notifications of system status for maximum system uptime
- The Spare vial function enables the loading of a spare rack to manage out-of-tolerance vials while preserving complete racks of in-tolerance vials
Designed and built in the UK
MultiDose benefits from the 40+ years of experience designing and developing automated solutions. Housed in a single unit, the system may be delivered to the lab in one piece, reducing on-site setup time.
Customizable
MultiDose can be purchased “off the shelf” or custom-built. This might incorporate extra modules, or it could be integrated into a glovebox or air filtration enclosure, for example.
Labman support
As with other systems, Labman provides excellent support, and each system includes a one-year complete warranty as standard.
How does MultiDose work?
Quality engineering, robust software
From start to finish, the MultiDose procedure is designed to reduce the need for human intervention, even in the event of errors or out-of-tolerance dispenses. Maximize the uptime and free up the technicians' time for more important tasks.
Load consumables

Fill the selected vials with the dosing heads. Due to on-board vial adaptors and movable gripper fingertips, this can include up to six distinct vial types in a single run. Start the run by entering or uploading the dispensing criteria.
Run system

The system will finish the necessary processes and send out push notifications for any issues or system status. The user can prioritize a specific rack by using the priority rack feature. It is possible to halt a run in the middle of it, load a new rack, and choose which rack should be processed first before continuing with the remaining run.
Data export

The achieved dispense mass and tolerance for each vial are highlighted in a securely exported CSV file. The software makes it simple to integrate with an already-existing ELN or LIMS system.
