Novartis, Nordic Bioscience to continue oral calcitonin Phase III study in osteoarthritis patients

Unigene Laboratories, Inc. announced today that Novartis and its license partner Nordic Bioscience have decided to continue the companies' two-year, Phase III Study 2302 assessing safety and efficacy of oral calcitonin in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee. Novartis has a worldwide license to produce recombinant calcitonin under Unigene's patented SecraPep® E. coli manufacturing technology.

Vermillion to complete relocation of corporate offices to Austin, Texas by September 2010

Vermillion, Inc., a molecular diagnostics company, today announced that it is relocating its corporate headquarters from Fremont, California to Austin, Texas. IDEXX Laboratories second-quarter 2010 revenues increase 6% to $281.5 million

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., today reported that revenues for the second quarter of 2010 increased 6% to $281.5 million, from $265.7 million for the second quarter of 2009. Organic revenue growth, as defined below, was 5%. Earnings per diluted share for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 increased 13% to $0.62, compared to $0.55 for the same period in the prior year.

A five-year study into the causes of deaths of workers at Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant shows significantly lower death rates from all causes and cancer in general when compared to the overall United States population. This is known by occupational health researchers as the "healthy worker effect".
