Syndax reports promising results from entinostat preclinical studies in breast cancer

Syndax Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a clinical-stage epigenetics oncology company, announces results from two preclinical studies on entinostat, an orally bioavailable, highly selective, class I histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, in animal models of breast cancer. The data are being presented as oral poster discussions at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium December 8 through December 12 in San Antonio Texas.

Presence of circulating tumor cells in early-stage breast cancer doubles risk of relapse and death

The presence of one to four circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the blood of early-stage breast cancer patients almost doubled patient's risk of cancer relapse and death, and five or more CTCs increased recurrence by 400 percent and death by 300 percent, according to Phase III results of the SUCCESS trial. These cells were found in patients after surgery but before chemotherapy treatment.

Phadia today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of the shares in the Chinese marketing company WKL from the parent company MeiRui. The acquisition is made through AllergonAB, a wholly owned subsidiary of Phadia, and is subject to approval by Chinese authorities.
