Lannett announces launch of Fluphenazine HCl Tablets

Lannett Company, Inc., a manufacturer of generic pharmaceuticals, today announced that it has commenced shipping Fluphenazine HCl Tablets USP, the generic equivalent of Prolixin®, in 1 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg dosages. For the 12 months ended September 2010, Fluphenazine HCl Tablets USP, 1 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, & 10 mg had U.S. sales of approximately $28 million at Average Wholesale Price.

Hyperion's HPN-100 granted FDA Fast Track Designation for urea cycle disorders

Hyperion Therapeutics, Inc. announced today that its investigational compound glycerol phenylbutyrate (HPN-100) has been granted Fast Track Designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as adjunctive therapy for the chronic management of urea cycle disorders. Hyperion recently completed its phase III trial which was conducted under a Special Protocol Assessment (SPA) agreement with the FDA. The Company plans to announce results from that trial later this year.

FDA grants fast track designation for Aastrom's CLI cell therapy development program

HHS awards $4.8 million grant for Teen Prevention Education Program

The Princeton Center for Leadership Training (PCLT), in collaboration with long-time partner HiTOPS, was awarded a five-year, $4.8 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to replicate and evaluate a teen sexual health peer education program, known as the Teen Prevention Education Program (Teen PEP), in 16 high schools in rural North Carolina communities with high teen birth rates.
