New insights into cancer hallmarks in induced pluripotent cells

CFIDS Association applauds AABB for responding to questions about safety of general blood supply

The CFIDS Association of America commends the AABB (formerly the American Association of Blood Banking) for its actions to protect the safety of the nation's blood supply by recommending that blood collectors actively discourage potential donors who have been diagnosed by a physician with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS, also known as chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome, or CFIDS) from donating blood through the use of donor information materials made available at the donation site.

Today, the Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Attorney's Office, and Harvard Drug Group announced their agreement to immediately modify the suspension, upon certain conditions, of Harvard's registration to distribute schedule III through V controlled substances out of its Livonia Distribution Center, and a mutual commitment to commence discussions, towards resolution of the issues raised in the DEA's suspension order. Artificial pancreas system reduces risk of nocturnal hypoglycemia

An article recently published in The Lancet reports that using an artificial pancreas system overnight can significantly reduce the risk of nocturnal hypoglycemia in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. Moreover, the first clinical trial of an artificial pancreas system delivering both insulin and glucagon has shown that this system can prevent development of hypoglycemia.
