It was previously established that insufficient Vitamin D levels correlate with Asthma. It was also well known that insufficient Vitamin D means that the immune system (and other metabolic functions) fail to operate correctly. It now appears that if the body simply isn't killing pathogens because of Vitamin D deficiency, the microbes will have a field day, asthma being only one of many consequences. I wonder when the medical establishment will start recommending adequate amounts of Vitamin D dietary supplement for everyone.
