    "Brain size in our species appears to have been shrinking since the beginning of the Holocene (around 11,650 years ago)." Of course this says nothing about neural interconnectivity, which is a more meaningful correlate of intelligence than overall brain mass. It is however a notable finding, and might explain a lot about human behavior during the last 11,650 years. Or at least the last year and a half.
