Although certainly a promising study for those suffering from primary hyperaldosteronism, the headline is misleading. The leading cause of hypertension is certainly Not due to primary hyperaldosteronism. The leading cause of hypertension is essential hypertension which is due to a combination of genetics and poor diet/exercise. This is called primary essential hypertension. Secondary hypertension is due to conditions like hyperaldosteronism, pheochromocytoma, renovascular dysplasia, etc. These conditions are far more rare than essential hypertension. Hope this helps clarify for your readers.
