Demonstration of Amira Software for cell biology

Understanding cell structure and mechanisms requires data analysis from various imaging systems and modalities that all use different file formats. Each experimental setup can generate a unique challenge when processing the data.

Multi-scale dynamic processes require tracking of objects of various sizes, from diffraction-limited particles to entire cells. There can be a few dozen to tens of thousands of objects in each data set. In addition, intracellular processes are supported by sub-cellular structures that also need to be identified and quantified.

Thermo Scientific Amira Software provides a comprehensive array of tools for the flexible and accurate analysis of time series data of cellular mechanisms. It enables researchers to perform dedicated segmentation workflows on their intra- and intercellular images and apply powerful automated object-tracking solutions.

Learn more about Amira Software ›

In the previous webinar, Thermo Scientific introduced Amira Software for cell biology and highlighted some real-world uses. It is recommended that this webinar is watched before attending this webinar; here, Thermo Scientific will delve more deeply into the product and show very practical ways to obtain results and actionable data that can benefit entire research workflows.

During this webinar, you will learn how to:

  • Analyze multichannel fluorescence endothelial cell culture data by performing fast and effective cleaning, segmentation, volume colocalization, and neighbor cell proximity.
  • Extract complex information in 3D such as detection, segmentation, and penetration of cancer or immune cells, to manage multichannel High Content Screening multi-well images of spheroids models.
  • Accelerate subcellular (membrane, organelle) detection and segmentation from Electron Microscopy (TEM) data using a range of readily available tools, including 3D Deep Learning model training.
  • Quickly convert, visualize, and accurately process large (~100 GB) multi-channel and time series light sheet tissue imaging data.
