Federal appeals court agrees to expedite Florida suit against health law

A federal appeals court has agreed to act swiftly in considering a Florida judge's ruling that President Obama's health care overhaul is unconstitutional. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said Friday that it had agreed to expedite the appeal, setting a faster timetable than even the federal government had requested.

Keneally promises billions for hospital & healthcare upgrades

Hospital upgrades with more beds and an expansion of the nursing and medical workforce may be a reality in the near future thanks to the Keneally government’s $2.3 billion pitch. Premier Kristina Keneally pledged the total spending package of $4bn would deliver “improvements right across the health system” and give patients the care they needed, promptly. Scientists receive March of Dimes grant for preterm birth research

Study reports highest rate of exclusive breastfeeding in El Camino Women's Hospital

The Women's Hospital at El Camino Hospital had the highest rate of exclusive and partial breastfeeding by new mothers of any hospital in the state for 2009, according to a study recently released by the UC-Davis Human Lactation Center and the California WIC Association.
