Genmab A/S announced today the start of a Phase III study of single agent ofatumumab compared to single agent rituximab in patients with follicular non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) that has relapsed at least 6 months after completion of treatment with a rituximab-containing regimen to which they responded.

EMA Pediatric Committee adopts positive opinion for CTI's Pixuvri for lymphoid malignancies, solid tumors

UCB presents P3, P4 clinical trial data for Crohn's disease at ACG Scientific Meeting

Findings from the PRECiSE 3 (P3) open label extension study for Cimzia, demonstrating the longest continuously running maintenance trial for an anti-TNF in Crohn's disease, will be exhibited at the 2010 Annual Scientific Meeting of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), taking place in San Antonio from October 15 – 20. EC grants orphan medicinal product designation to Allos' pralatrexate for Hodgkin lymphoma

Seattle Genetics, Inc. today reported data from a phase I clinical trial of SGN-75 in patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma or renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Preliminary results demonstrate tolerability and antitumor activity, including two objective responses in the first 16 patients treated. Dose-escalation is continuing.

National survey highlights need for greater awareness on lymphoma

While general awareness of lymphoma remains high, a new survey released today by the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) reveals significant knowledge gaps among Americans about the disease, which is the most prevalent form of blood cancer in the United States. Survey results showed a high number of adults (86 percent) remain unaware that there are 67 different types of lymphoma - 61 types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and six types of Hodgkin lymphoma.

Decision Resources, one of the world's leading research and advisory firms for pharmaceutical and healthcare issues, finds that, for the treatment of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, 41 percent of surveyed European hematologist-oncologists say that the favorable efficacy profile of Roche's MabThera (rituximab) is the most significant driver of their use of this brand, while 26 percent say MabThera's favorable risk-benefit profile is the most significant driver.
