SRA to provide scientific peer review services to Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas

SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX), a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to government organizations and commercial clients, today announced it has won a contract from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to provide scientific peer review services. The contract is worth $16.2 million over five years, if all options are exercised. Work on the contract began July 1, 2009.

Vita-Tech donates vitamins to support nutritionally disadvantaged population in West Africa

Vita-Tech International, Inc. has donated one ton of vitamins to Conakry, Guinea, West Africa, to support nutritionally disadvantaged populations in polio treatment centers throughout the country, as well as rural villages in the area surrounding Conakry. "This donation will provide nutritional support for hundreds of people for a long period, with follow-up shipments planned to insure continuity of care," according to Tom Tierney, President of Vita-Tech.

Instant updates to parents on H1N1 influenza

Kennedy (D-Mass.) as chairman of the Senate's health committee, a senior Senate aide said Tuesday night. ... Dodd's decision leaves the chairmanship of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee to Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), who follows Dodd in seniority. Multiple sources in the Harkin orbit, requesting anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said that he is certain to take over the HELP committee" (Kane, 8/8).
