UA Superfund Research Program to study contaminated dust, water and health issues

Metal-laden dust and contaminated water, and their health effects, will be the focus of multiple projects for the University of Arizona's Superfund Research Program during the next five years. The National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences recently notified UA that the Superfund Research Program, funded since 1989, will receive an additional $14 million in grant funding through 2015 to conduct the research.

Interim data from Avid's florbetapir "Image-to-Autopsy" Phase III study to be presented

Avid Radiopharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced the presentation of interim data from its landmark florbetapir "Image-to-Autopsy" Phase III study. These data come from the first cohort of subjects in the trial and are the first ever Phase III results for an agent designed to image Alzheimer's disease pathology.

Enrollment complete in Jennerex' Phase 1 trial of JX-594 IV administration for solid tumors

Jennerex, Inc., a clinical-stage cancer biotherapeutics company, today announced that it has completed patient enrollment in a Phase 1 clinical trial evaluating the intravenous (IV) administration of JX-594, the company's lead product for the treatment of solid tumors. EntreMed commences Phase 2 study of ENMD-2076 for platinum resistant ovarian cancer

EntreMed, Inc. today announced the initiation of a multi-center Phase 2 study with its lead oncology product candidate, ENMD-2076, in patients with platinum resistant ovarian cancer. The study will be conducted at up to six sites in the United States and Canada. In addition, EntreMed received a No Objection Letter (NOL) from the Therapeutic Products Directorate of Health Canada on its Clinical Trial Application to conduct the Phase 2 clinical trial in ovarian cancer patients.
