Supelco launches Ascentis Express Peptide ES-C18 HPLC columns

Supelco, a division of Sigma-Aldrich®, announced today the launch of Ascentis Express Peptide ES-C18, a high-speed, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column based on a new 160 angstrom Fused-Core™ particle design. This column design exhibits very high column efficiency, providing a stable, reversed phase packing with a pore structure and pore size that is optimized for reversed-phase HPLC separations of peptides and polypeptides.

Agilent Technologies wins breach of contract case against Advanced Materials Technology

Agilent Technologies Inc. today announced a favorable decision in its trade secrets and breach of contract case against Advanced Materials Technology, Inc. (AMT) and three of its employees in the Delaware Court of Chancery. Agilent filed the lawsuit in January 2008 to protect confidential and proprietary information relating to its high-performance liquid chromatography technology.

Dominion develops and validates clinical quantitative assays for tapentadol

Dominion Diagnostics (Dominion) has recently developed and validated one of the first clinical quantitative assays for the drug tapentadol (Nucynta(TM)) performed by liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS). Tapentadol, recently approved for use by the FDA, is a centrally-active analgesic that has demonstrated efficacy in pain relief with improved gastrointestinal tolerability compared to other opioids for pain management.
