Select patients with blunt aortic injury can be safely managed non-operatively with beta-blockade to lower the heart rate and blood pressure, according to a new study from the 64th Vascular Annual Meeting presented by the Society for Vascular Surgery.

FDA grants Cepheid marketing clearance for Xpert SA Nasal Complete molecular test

Cepheid today announced it has received clearance from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to market Xpert® SA Nasal Complete, the first and only molecular test designed for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of both Staphylococcus aureus (SA) and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) colonization in less than one hour. In recent news 12 women had been infected with the Hepatitis C virus allegedly from an anaesthetist Dr James Latham Peters, practising at an abortion clinic, Croydon Day Surgery. As the investigations continue the number of infected women has risen to 44.
