Vitamin B deficiency may cause vascular cognitive impairment

A deficiency of B-vitamins may cause vascular cognitive impairment, according to a new study. Researchers at the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) at Tufts University used an experimental model to examine the metabolic, cognitive, and microvascular effects of dietary B-vitamin deficiency.

The Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control (COSEHC), which is headquartered at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has received a $55,000 grant from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation to provide a mobile cardiovascular disease prevention program, Hypertension on Wheels, to Forsyth County residents.
