Cytheris broadens patent protection for recombinant human interleukin-7

Cytheris SA, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company focused on research and development of new therapies for immune modulation, today announced that it has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its patent application "Glycosylated IL-7, Preparation and Uses", US Patent Application Number 11/996,176. The Notice of Allowance is the USPTO’s official communication that the Company’s application has successfully completed examination and that a patent will be issued.

EMEA grants orphan drug status for LFB Biotechnologies' recombinant anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody

The recombinant anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody produced by LFB Biotechnologies received orphan drug status for the treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). This approval from the EMEA’s Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products (COMP) was handed down on last October 7th.

FDA approves ZyStor Therapeutics' ZC-701 for Phase I human safety trial

ZyStor Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology company developing a new class of targeted protein therapeutics for the treatment of Lysosomal Storage Diseases using the Company's proprietary Glycosylation Independent Lysosomal Targeting technology, today announced that it has received clearance from the U. S. Food and Drug Administration to proceed into a clinical trial for its first drug candidate, ZC-701, an enzyme replacement therapy for the treatment of Pompe disease.
