    The gateway to illicit drugs is prohibition,,it turns control and distribution over to criminals that don't have quality standards and don't check ID's.

    A little discussed "increased harm" caused by prohibition is the smoking of marijuana,,which only became popular and widely used after the federal government banned marijuana because it was the "quickest,easiest" method to use marijuana and has grown in popularity because of prohibition,,before that marijuana was consumed in foods and tinctures.
