    I just lost someone very special. She died of a blood clot in her lung, she was using Whippits, which as you probably know, are small canisters of N2O. She was using it for pain. This article revealed my suspicions, about whether or not her clot could be blamed on this.

      It crosses membranes more easily than oxygen and can expand air filled cavities. This is true for venous air embolism as well as pulmonary bullae/bleb. Not necessarily a cause but could be a contributing factor. That being said, pulmonary emboli may have many contributing factors.
