This was a very interesting and informative article. I am a hemodialysis patient waiting for a kidney transplant, sometime this year.  My sister is the donor. I've known about the concept of rejection from the beginning of this journey, but the statistics included in the article were a shock. I'm happy to hear there is a new drug that could protect the kidney from rejection, but its yet another pill to take on top of the already heavy load of serious drugs needed after transplantation.

Stem Cell research is the only real answer. Though it may not be ready in my lifetime, there will come a day when kidneys will be "fabricated" to match the patient.

    I await the day.
