    I think, that the experiment should be reproduced with additional vitamin K2 supplementation of the subjects. The vitamin D is important for calcification in general, meaning that it can cause maybe even blood-vessel calcification. Vitamin K2 probably has a role in selective bone calcification. I dont know if I can post links in here, but its not hard to find it on pubmed.
