1. A Z A Z United States says:

I got covid ~Mar 2020 (beginning of the pandemic), and still have long covid 3 years later.  The symptoms evolved over the first year from chest tightness/difficulty breathing (got lightheaded often due to not enough oxygen) to fatigue, post-exertional malaise, brain fog, and anxiety for the last two years.  Maybe the "evolution" of symptoms was caused by the vaccine which I did take in spring 2021.

In any case, it basically robbed me of my youth and my life/identity.  I can't exercise without having to lay in bed for like 12 hours/day over the next 3 days.  I can't think clearly (I do technical/academic work).  I easily get overwhelmed and have had some panic attacks.  Basically had to numb myself and my outlook on life (i.e. apathy) in order to not get extremely upset.  Many/most days I would gladly choose an option to go back into a deep permanent sleep.  I've researched how I would/will opt out, and reserve the right to do so.

Govt should have gotten started a cure the same time they started working on a vaccine.  If they ever do come up with one, hopefully it will the help those with ME/CFS and other post-viral syndromes as well.  Not sure I will be around for it, though.
