EZ4 Adapter for NIGHTSEA Stereo Microscope Fluorescence Adapter

The standard adapter ring for the Model SFA Stereo Microscope Fluorescence Adapter fits virtually all stereo microscopes of any make, model, or vintage. It attaches at the bottom of the objective housing, where a ring light would attach. There are a few cases, however, where a non-standard adapter is needed. The Leica EZ4 series of stereo microscopes, for example, is designed as an educational stereomicroscope for entry level university and college courses such as biology, anatomy and chemistry. It has built-in LED illumination and comes with or without an integrated camera. The unique shape of the EZ4 would not allow mounting of our standard adapter, so we developed a custom version that is used instead of the standard ring and serves the same two functions – mounting the barrier filter (magnetically) and the filter shield. The design does not interfere with the EZ4’s built-in light sources, so you can leave the adapter in place (with the fluorescence barrier filter removed) while using the microscope for white-light work.
