About the wedinar speakers

Keith Freel, PhD is an analytical chemist with extensive experience in pharmaceutical research and development. He currently serves as the Research Project Director at the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Pharmacy, where he supports the UMB GMP facility. Additionally he leads research studies under Dr. Stephen Hoag. His research interests include advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing methods such as 3D printing, hot melt extrusion (HME), process analytical technologies (PAT), as well as the application of spectroscopy in pharmaceutical research and product development. Prior to his current role, he spent ten years at Metrohm and Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he held various scientific roles to support the pharmaceutical industry. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Emory University, where he conducted research in spectroscopy and molecular energy transfer processes.
Nimesh Khadka is a senior application scientist with at Thermo Fisher Scientific with specializing in analytical biochemistry, spectroscopy, and chemometrics. With more than 5 years of experience in process development and PAT, he currently champions Raman spectroscopy as a PAT for development of biotherapeutics therapeutics. Nimesh completed his PhD at Utah State University focusing on enzymology, spectroscopy, and alternative bioenergy. In his postdoctoral training at Case Western Reserve University, Nimesh focused on the study of structural biology in biomolecules associated with eye pathologies. Through this extensive background, Nimesh has a deep understanding of the intricacies of biomolecular structures and their broad applications.
